Training

All S.G.S operatives and managers have a valid skills card and we are 99% compliant with the MCG Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme including our engineering site operatives. All scaffold gangs consist of a Chargehand, a scaffolder and a helper or trainee as a minimum, due to our training program a number gangs will have a chargehand and 2 scaffolders.

The company believes in having a fully trained workforce kept at the forefront of best practice, for instance, we carried out a series of course to update our operatives [and some client safety officers and operatives] to SG4:10 at the end of 2005, these will be completed at the start of 2006.

Our operatives carry certificates in the following disciplines:

Harness Rescue Trainer

Abrasive Wheels Trainer

S.G.S Limited also starts several trainees each year and registers them with the CITB apprenticeship scheme. We also have a very stable workforce for our industry with 40% over 3 years, 50% over 2 years and 67% over 1 year, during the same period we have nearly doubled our turnover and operatives employed.
