Safety

All S.G.S operatives and managers have completed the two day safety passport scheme and we carry out refreshers on a regular basis. They have all also completed the CIS Health & Safety touch screen test and have a valid CISRS card for their level of training and experience.

S.G.S Limited employ Stallard-Kane Associates as Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to carry out regular Site Safety Audits which are documented and responded to by the appropriate Contract Manager. They also initiate toolbox talks and safety memos on a regular basis.

Contract Managers regularly carry out documented site tool box talks either on site specific topics or on individual topics from the CITB Toolbox Talk book. We also issue all memos out to employees with their payslips ensuring maximum response.

All new operatives and employees are inducted when employed by the company and issued with standard PPE relevant to their job, for scaffolders this would be [as a minimum] Hard Hat; SGS Proban Overalls; Safety Boots; HiVis Vest; Safety Harness with Lanyard and Gloves. Other PPE and replacements are available through their line managers and in keeping with the works to be carried out and their training certification.

All S.G.S employees know that they have an input into all safety matters and can raise concerns at any time to their line managers and that these concerns will be taken seriously and investigated. They all have access to our full Health & Safety Policy which is updated on a regular basis.
